Where to Buy

All of this comes at a premium price of $60 over what other Ironman watches are sold at. The iControl comes with a special adapter that plugs into the bottom slot of the iPod. This slot is found on every iPod with a screen and Timex guarantees compatibility with 5th gen models including the iPhone.

When the adapter is plugged in the iControl communicates wirelessly giving you control over music playback. No information is sent to the watch, so if you want to see what song or artist is playing you still have to look at the iPod itself. Some buttons are dedicated specifically to iPod playback while a couple also access watch-specific features which can result in unintended actions (changing timing mode instead of skipping song).

All of the features found on usual Ironman watches are also found on the iControl. That includes three different alarm clocks which can be set for three different time zones. Workout specific functions include a countdown timer, lap recording (up to 50) with best/average results, and other modes such as a pace timer. The watch is also water resistant up to 100 meters which means it can handle getting wet, but you won't be taking it on any SCUBA adventures.

Comes in seven different colors.
