It is also GPS-enabled, so it can precisely track position and store waypoints. It also includes all of Garmin's high-end training features, like competing with a Virtual Partner, customizable workout routines, and the ability to compete against previous workouts. The 405CX can wirelessly share routines and results wirelessly with other Forerunner 405 or 405CX users. The unit includes a heart rate monitor and is also compatible with the optional foot pod or bicycle speed/cadence sensor, though both are sold separately. The included heart monitor and wireless sharing capability put it a step above the Forerunner 310XT. Like the 310XT, the 405CX automatically and wirelessly updates workout information to a computer via an included USB device, for use in the Garmin Connect analysis and sharing community, or Garmin Training Center software.
